Rapper 2shotz set to wed, holds introduction ceremony today

Music star William Orioha, popularly known as 2shotz is one step closer to being a married man. His introduction ceremony with his girlfriend Precious Jones held today Tuesday April 9th at the bride's village in Imo State. The last photo on the right is from their introduction ceremony today. Friday is their court wedding in Lagos. Congrats to them!

Final Top 2 Performances... Banky W joins Nigerian Idol 3

Finally, Nigeria's top TV reality music competition, Nigerian Idol season 3, has reached its last set of performances. With 3 performances each on Sunday night, the Top 2 contestants, Debbie rise and Moses, delivered beyond their best. During the final performances, Debbie and Moses performed Cyndi Lauper's 'Time after Time'. It was the first, and perhaps last, duet for the two contestants. The judges - Yinka Davies, Femi Kuti and Jefrey Daniels - all agreed that both contestants deserved the crown. Continue...

An American girl that speaks Yoruba fluently and even choose to be called a Yoruba name Titilayo.

She went to the market in Nigeria and spoke the language to the locals around there. People were amazed to see a white girl who is not based in Nigeria speaking the local language so fluently.

After a hard fought battle over the course of 15 weeks, Lalu Surdiham, a chef working in Lagos has emerged as the winner of the Knorr Taste Quest cooking competition. It was a grand finale filled with tension that could have been cut with a knife, as the trio of Ifeyinwa Mogekwu, Lalu Surdiham and Patricia Allison got ready to battle to become Nigeria's best.

This happened just yesterday evening. The guy is the younger brother of a popular footballer. Yesterday was his longtime girlfriend's birthday, so he went to her house with the ring and the Range Rover. He asked her to marry him with car keys and a very expensive ring. She said YES of course! Before? Lol. The ring is inside the red box on the car. Other guys, please take a cue from this guy..:-)

Flood returns to Lagos

The heat in Lagos in the last couple of months has been insane....so insane that you'd pray for rain. But then the rain comes, and there's flood. Awolowo Way, Ikeja was flooded this morning after a down pour (pictured above). Cars were submerged to window level, leaving a number of cars stuck. I think I prefer the hot sun!

Yes oooo, you read the header right. Iyanya and Nicki Minaj to collaborate. That's the unconfirmed rumour in town. That Nigeria's own current music sensation, Iyanya, who has dropped such great hits like ''Your Waist'', ''Kukere'' and whose recent album launch was a success. He is also currently in the USA, we hear might be considering a music collaboration with the uniquely gifted American rapstress/singer, the incredibly talented Nicki Minaj.

We were very curious to know how true the gist might be, so we placed a call to the music sensation, but he was unavailable as he is in the US. But we got across to someone close to him, who normally should know and we were told that, as far as they know, nothing like the said collabo is in view. So the rumours are unfounded.

We believe them anyway. But we would have loved to see, Iyanya and Nicki, doing ''Your Waist''....................

Triple MG ensigns, Iyanya and Emma Nyra just commenced their US/Canada tour on April 5 2013, with a show in New York.

A few days ago, my cousin’s girlfriend came to visit. I had caught her staring at me a few times than normal so I asked if there was a problem. Towards the end of the visit, she mentioned that she had actually been trying to figure out if I’d had my eyebrows tattooed.

Nollywood actress Ini Edo faced a lot of criticism for what appeared to be a little weight gain following her red carpet appearance at last month’s AMVCA awards in Lagos. It seems the actress took the comments about her weight gain to heart because she showed up at the launch of X-Factor Nigeria in Lagos on the 27th March showing off a much trimmer body.

Even though I didn’t notice her size at the AMVCA (women’s bodies change all the time for various reasons…hormones, stress etc) I have to say she looks much better now. She’s rocking a brown dress, with sky high Christian Louboutin heels and sporting the latest accessory in town a Blackberry Z10.
Her dress, makeup, hair all tie in and looks perfect on her.

100 Vehicles Vandalised, Many Injured In Lagos Violence

No fewer than 100 vehicles were vandalised and many injured when urchins, otherwise known as “Area boys” on reprisal invaded four streets in Akoka and Pedro in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The hoodlums were said to have arrived the area through the Somolu Market pretending to be holding a candlelight procession for a man, identified simply as Old Skool.
The man was allegedly stabbed repeatedly by some youths during a rally organised by the Somolu LG Chairman, Mr. Gbolahan Bago-Stowe to mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Solanke Street.
Old Skool died on Easter Sunday, thus creating tension in the Akoka part of the LG.
Our correspondent learnt that more than 70 hoodlums stormed the streets between 10pm on Sunday and 1am on Monday, destroying vehicles parked on the streets and inflicting injuries on many residents.
