Ebonyi State police command, at the weekend, arrested a
middle-aged man, Okechukwu  Ogbonna (30), for allegedly beheading his
father for reasons still being investigated.
 The state
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Sylvester Igbo, disclosed this
in Abakaliki, the state capital, in an interactive forum with newsmen.

Igbo said the suspect, a farmer by profession, who hails from
Isundiede in Izzzi Local Government Area of the state, was arrested,
following  a report received by the command on March 1, on the murder of
 his deceased father.
The PPRO said the suspect was said to have
killed his father, Mr Ogbonna Okereke, a 60-year-old farmer, after he
was reportedly told by a pastor that his late father was tampering with
his destiny.
Igbo hinted that the suspect claimed that his father
was not taking proper care of him, stating that the body of the
deceased had been deposited in a nearby hospital for autopsy.
 The
police image maker said the suspect would be charged to court as soon
as investigations into the matter were completed.
