Educationist Supports Scrapping Of JAMB, NECO
An education consultant, Ike Onyechere has said that the policy of scrapping JAMB and NECO is one of the best decisions that President Goodluck Jonathan should have taken a long time ago in the education sector.
While speaking on Channels Television’s Breakfast Show Sunrise Daily, Mr Onyechere said the education stakeholders have been calling for something drastic to be done in the education sector, “some people went as far as calling for declaration of state of emergency in the educational sector”.

Cancer patient Funmi Lawal dies
Funmi's left arm had to be amputated in January 2013 to save her life...unfortunately she still didn't make it. She died this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. The cancer had spread to her lungs and she had completely lost the ability to breathe without a respirator. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Enugu – Port Harcourt Federal Road Goes Bad 3 Months After Rehabilitation
Barely three months after the busy Enugu-Okigwe-Umuahia-Port Harcourt federal road was rehabilitated under the supervision of FERMA, some portions of the road have gone bad again. |
This is because potholes have developed on the road, especially in the middle, endangering the lives of road users.
The potholes are mostly located between Ezinachi in Okigwe and Ofeme in Umuahia, a portion handled by one of the major contractors.
However, the stretch from Umuahia-back to Okigwe is in a better condition.

incidences of sexual defilement in Nigeria. Seven-Year-old Chideira Jaja
was a recent victim of sexual defilement. The men who allegedly
violated her were aged 43, 21 and 19.
Chideira and her
aunt, Ngozi, recount the little girl’s ordeal in the hands of those who
sexually violated her.
Seven-year-old Chideira Jaja is a precocious girl. She is ebullient and intelligent. But beneath this little girl’s liveliness and enthusiasm is a serious pain that only love and counselling from discerning and adults can heal.
The pain is a direct consequence of how she was sexually violated by three paedophiles. And these unscrupulous adults, 43-year-old Kassim Mohammed, Oluwatobi Daramola and James Aniekan were alleged to have serially defiled the little girl between July 2012 and January 2013.
Oluwatobi and James were said to be about 21 and 19, respectively although they allegedly claimed to be 17.

Disabled Person Accused Presidency Of Killing Disability Bill

A lawyer, Idris Faro has recommended refresher courses and training for judges in Nigeria as a means of curbing the declining incidences of miscarried judgement.

Four church leaders killed in Borno State
The four men identified as Iliya Tada, Ayuba Yusuf, Idris Dogo and a fourth victim were gunned down while resting near the church premises after a service. Their attackers rode into the church in a bike and opened fire. The dead men were buried today.
