This Easter, the city of Calabar will be
buzzing with activities as the maiden edition of the Calabar Jazz
Festival takes place.
As one of the cultural and entertainment
capitals of Nigeria, Cross river State will be hosting the festival
which will hold from Friday March 29-Sunday March 31, 2013 introducing a
new dimension to the state’s involvement with arts and culture.
Speaking to NET, one of the festival
headliners Darey Art Alade said, ‘ I’m quite excited about the
event and also performing on the same platform as Eric Bennet, D’Angelo
and Asa. You know jazz has always been my first love, so, I will
be performing some of my jazz tunes.’
R&B/Soul artistes, D’Angelo and Eric
Benet from the US, Jonathan Butler from South Africa and
Nigerian stars such as Asa, Bez, Darey and Burna Boy are
the front line headliners for the Easter event.
