Ladela School Holds ‘Family Fun Day’

Students, staff and members of the Parents Teachers Associations of Ladela Secondary School Abuja, Saturday took time off their busy schedules to have eight hours of fun at the school’s premises.
 
Also in attendance were former minister of Education, Hajiya Aisha Dukku and the acting Director of the National Mathematical Centre, Professor Adewale Roland Tunde Solarin. In a brief speech to declare ‘Ladela Family Fun Day’ open, Hajiya Dukku commended the school for coming out with such a day and for taking special interest in their students.
The former minister was taken round stands mounted in the school’s premises to inspect items as well as services displayed for sale by students of the school’s entrepreneurial club and parents. Among the stands were those of free counseling services, free eye test, cancer awareness and free legal service.

Students and parents also had fun with outdoor and indoor games, while tug of war contests were competed by both sexes. Presentations were made by Elizade University, Helwelt Systems Limited on electronic white boards.
Acting Director of National Mathematical Centre, Professor Solarin, also drew attention at the event, when he spent time solving mathematical equations presented to him by the school’s teachers off hand.
He solved each equation very quickly, which drew ovation after the sums were found correct when crosschecked using a calculator
