It’s Oyo, Ondo for finals of Adeboye U-20 National Table Tennis Championship.
The dominance of South West states in table tennis continues at the maiden Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye National U-20 Table Tennis Championship, as Oyo and Ondo will play in the finals on Saturday March 2, holding at the Redemption Camp, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
In the women’s semi-final played on Thursday, second seeded player, Oyo’s Fatimo Kazeem was in fine form when she dismissed number one seed, Lagos’ Funke Hassan to set up a final clash against Funmi Ajala.
To berth in the final, Kazeem overwhelmed Hassan 4-0, while Ajala, also an Oyo State player, beat another Lagos’ star, Ayo Udoh 4-0 to set an Oyo State affair in the final scheduled for tomorrow at the Redemption Camp, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
Number two seed in the men’s event, Ondo’s Akinwale Fagbamila wasted no time in progressing to the final after whitewashing Rivers’ Ahmed Bello 4-1. Also, Ondo’s Ojo Onaolapo beat Ogun’s Olajide Omotayo to make the final round.
Sunday, Akinwale and Onaolapo will confront each other in the men’s final, which promises to be exciting.
Over 150 players from 25 states of the federation registered for the championship
