After four years of continuous service improvement since it started special cardiology treatment in July 2008, Reddington Hospital has been accredited by COHSASA (Council for Hospital Services Accreditation of Southern Africa).

requirements as dictated by international best practices and standards.
The Reddington Hospital, by this achievement, becomes the first independent hospital in Nigeria to be so accredited by COHSASA
COHSASA is an international accreditation organisation certified by global regulating accreditation body, ISQua (International Society for Quality in Healthcare) to audit healthcare institutions against approved internationally-accepted standard, and to certify them when they meet the requirements. COHSASA is the only healthcare accreditation organisation in Sub-Saharan Africa.
For accreditation purposes, COHSASA using a team of seasoned international experts evaluated Reddington hospital against about 1,440 criteria, which included clinical governance, primary and specialty care, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, food handling, health & safety, infection control and many others.
Presenting the award to the Reddington Hospital recently at a ceremony in Cape Town South Africa, Prof. Stuart Whitaker, CEO of COHSASA, said Reddington Hospital achieved overall score of 96 out of 100 adding that “by this accreditation, COHSASA acknowledges that the quality of care being provided at Reddington Hospital is the appropriate standard accepted internationally in the industry and is compliant with safety regulations.”
In his response, the CEO of Reddington Hospital – Dr Adeyemi Onabowale said, "..it has been a rewarding and exciting experience for all of us at Reddington Hospital for this award, which obviously justified all the investments, diligence and hard work put into the programme by every one of our staff over the past four years. We trust this accreditation will provide us with a unique opportunity to continually improve on the quality and standard of care we provide to our valued patients.”
The Reddington Hospital now joins the exclusive list of hospitals across the world accredited by COHSASA that are compliant with International Accredited Standards of care.
The Reddington Hospital is a Multi-specialist Tertiary Hospital established in 2006. It provides a wide range of areas of services which include Advanced Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and many others.
The Reddington Hospital has been in the forefront of pioneering many breakthroughs in health care in Nigeria which include the first digital Cardiac Catheterisation facility in Nigeria, the first angioplasty and stent operation performed in Nigeria, the first closure of a hole in the heart in a child using non-surgical technology and the first hospital to acquire a 64-slice CT Scan in Western Nigeria.
