Looking at the security challenges
plaguing the nation, Police historian and Scholar Kemi Rotimi said the
Federal Government has lost control of the war against the insurgencies
that has reshaped the country’s history as he is very worried about the
Northern region and the inter-group relations.
Referring to Monday’s blast which took place at a luxury bus motor park in Kano, where over 60 people were confirmed dead, the scholar, who was a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast show Sunrise Daily, said that the Federal Government has definitely lost grip of how to tackle the security challenges facing the country and how to take down the Islamic Boko Haram sect.
Rotimi equally implored Nigerians who can help the Federal Government in the war against terrorism in the country to do so.
Meanwhile, in swift response the Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs; Dr Doyin Okupe responded to the statement of the police historian saying it is very wrong for him to make such a statement as the Federal Government is matching up to level with the sect and is doing all it can to avert these insurgencies.
