On the Tuesday April 16, Kingsley Ukoba; an articulate Nigerian youth celebrated his birthday at the Correctional Home in Ondo State. Instead of majoring on the minor, he did not visit with only foods but focused on informative, educative and communicative materials. Some of these materials included a big white marker board, markers, writing materials (notebooks, biros and pencils), scientific and informative posters, literature books and games.

He was accompanied by members of Youth Ambassador for Development (YAD) Akure Chapter, represented by Faith Olaniran and Makanjuola Olubukola.
The Correctional Home located at the extreme south end of Akure city, Ondo State had some children majorly comprising of adolescents. The visit was attended to by the hospitable staff on duty at about 4:00pm who ordered for the release of the children after communication of the visitation intentions.
Kingsley gave his piece of advice to the children, enjoined them to be determined for a better future by focusing on their studies and obedience to relative laws and authorities. It was a participatory session which required the children to introduce themselves by their names and what they want to be in the future. This information helped the speaker to emphasize on how to attain the heights of their respective dreams.
Vote of thanks was made by one of the staff and followed by presentation of the gifts to the Home by the celebrant with appreciation for given opportunity to express love to the less privileged like those children.
Photographs were taken which enclosed the celebrant, representatives of YAD, Akure Chapter, and Staff of the Correctional Home, the presented gifts and with the exception of the children.
As much as causes for festivity occur every day, let us learn from Kingsley Ukoba to stretch out our hands (either fat or slim) to the deprived in the society; this is a better initiative for celebrations that will foster social impact.

As Africans, we usually find one or more reasons to have large celebrations; expressed as parties which entails dining, wining and all other sorts of merriment but with little or no influence on community development.
