President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has said that Nigeria is committed
to resolving the crisis in Guinea Bissau under the aegis of the Economic
Community of West African States and the United Nations.
President Jonathan was speaking to Mr. Jose Ramos Horta, Special Representative of the United Nations’ Secretary-General on Guinea Bissau, at the State House, Monday.
"We are committed to resolving this crisis, so we will work with you, under the ECOWAS, to restore peace and democracy to Guinea Bissau", he stated.
The President, according to a press release signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, said the forthcoming 42nd Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government would provide an opportunity to share ideas with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Guinea Bissau.
