DG, NDE, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed
The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE),
Mallam Abubakar Mohammed, has been honoured with the 2012 Man of the
Year by Verbatim Magazine in the Employment Generation category.
The ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja recently where Mohammed, alongside other Nigerians such as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, were honoured.
The Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Mr. Tobs Agbaegbu, said the award was created to recognise and acknowledge the efforts of Nigerians who contribute to uplift the nation in any field. He disclosed that the awardees were chosen through a strict process after several advertisements were placed to invite the public to nominate candidates.
Reading the citation of the NDE boss, Agbaegbu described him as someone who has “done wonderfully well to ensure there are opportunities where people can actually achieve their dreams as well as empower others.”
Mohammed dedicated the award to all staff members and management of the NDE who he said have supported him fully. He expressed readiness and determination to work with innovations to meet the challenges of contemporary Nigeria in the area of job creation.
Verbatim Magazine was established by the former staff member and
management of Newswatch Magazine following its acquisition and closure
by businessman Jimoh Ibrahim.
