The umbrella body for the Southern Kaduna people, the Southern Kaduna
Peoples Union (SOKAPU) Monday urged the Kaduna State House of Assembly
to speed up the passage of the Bill on the establishment of
neighbourhood watch to enable communities in the southern part of the
state protect themselves frequent attacks by terrorists.
The union also called on the Kaduna State government to ensure that
last Sunday’s attack on Aduwan village in Zangon Kataf Local Government
Area by unknown gun men is the last of such attacks on Southern Kaduna
communities, as the people of the area are prepared to defend themselves
against such attacks.
Addressing a news conference Monday in Kaduna, the President of SOKAPU
Dr. Ephraim Goje said government must do everything possible to halt the
persistent attacks on the peaceful communities in the Southern part of
the state
