Gunmen Kidnap Government Hospital Matron In Delta

Matron of Government Hospital Isiokolo, headquarter of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, Mrs. Blessing Affe has been abducted by yet unknown gunmen.
The gunmen who stormed the hospital premises in a Toyota Camry car at about 8:15am intercepted Mrs Blessing Affe at the gate, brought her out of her car and forced her into their car amidst sporadic gun shots.
According to a reliable source, the suspected kidnappers trailed Mrs Blessing Affe from her home. As at the time of filing this report, the suspected kidnappers were demanding N25 million ransom for the release of Mrs Blessing Affe.

Meanwhile, nurses attached to the hospital have embarked on work-to-rule-in protest against the kidnap of their colleague, thereby paralyzing activities at the hospital, which was opened in 2010.
The decision to embark on the work-to-rule, the Saturday Vanguard gathered was sequel to the directive of the State chairman of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Mr. Egiro Egbedi.
The hospital source, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, said the nurses would not resume work until their colleague was released.
When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Famous Ajieh said he was yet to be briefed on the matter. However, a senior police officer attached to the Isiokolo Police Division confirmed the incident and said the police was on top the issue.
