A 23-year-old man was on Thursday
arrested for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl at Edunjobi Street,
Alagbole, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun.
The police spokesman in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta that the matter was reported by the victim’s grandmother.
“ The complainant reported that her grand daughter complained to her that she was having serious pains in her private part.
“ It was discovered that the accused person of the same address had carnal knowledge of the young girl when the complainant was not at home,’’ he said.
Adejobi said the suspect had been detained at the state police headquarters and would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
He urged parents not to leave their children unattended to whenever they were not at home.
