A 49-year-old man, Henry Okojie and
three others, were arraigned yesterday, before an Ikeja Magistrate’s
Court, for allegedly stealing a company’s property valued at N7million.
Henry Okojie, 49, Oladokun Olarewaju 45, Moses Orodele and others now at large, who were arraigned before Magistrate Sule Hamzat, are facing a two count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Iranus Nnamonu, told the court that Okojie, Olarewaju, Orodele and others now at large committed the said offence sometime in January, at the company’s Ikorodu road office.
According to Nnamonu, the offence committed is punishable under section 409,285 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
However when the charge was read to the defendants they pleaded not guilty..
Magistrate Sule Hamzat, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000, each, with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the matter to April 18, for mention.
Meantime, Magistrate Oshodi Makanju of an Ikeja Magistrate Court, yesterday granted an 18 -year- old teenager, Okada rider Abbas Buba, bail after pleading guilty, to conspiracy and stealing.
Buba, was arrainged, before Magistrate Makanju of an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a Bajaj motorcycle, valued at N217,000, property of Daniel Attala.
Buba and three others now at large, who were arraigned before Magistrate Makanju, are facing a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Samson Ekikere, told the court that the defendant and others now at large, committed the offence between January 25 and 27, 2013.
Ekikere, said that the offence committed is punishable under section 409 and 285.
Earlier, when the charge was read to the defendant, he pleaded guilty to the two count charge proffered against him, by the police.
However Magistrate Oshodi Makanju, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the matter to March 27, 2013, for facts and sentence.
