Two Nigerian cadet table tennis players have picked the slots allotted
to the West African sub region for the Olympic Solidarity Scholarships
by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
Ahmed Osinbanjo of Oyo State and Tosin Oribamishe of Ekiti State were the stars of the U-13 male and female categories at the just concluded Hope 2013 West African Age-group Zone 3 Championship in Abidjan , Cote d’Ivoire.

Abdulwahab-Omotose disclosed Tuesday that he was very happy with the
performance of the Nigerian team to the championships which took place
in Ivorian capital.
“It was an all Nigerian final in both the male and female categories.
While Osinbanjo defeated Abayomi Martins, Oribamishe also had the upper hand in the contest with Eniola Blessing.
In the U-18 boys, Jide Omotayo defeated Kehinde Awobajo also in an all Nigerian final.

“While our players took part in only three events out of nine staged at
the competition due to late arrival ,we won all that we took part
in, including the only two ITTF scholarships slot on offer,” observed
the NTTF president.
Hon. Abdulwahab-Omotose stated that the result shows a fulfilment of
the thrust of the board to bring up new set of players who will graduate
to the senior level and give good account of the country in the
continent.
